Door County Inspirations – Toby Vandenack’s roots run deep in Door County, Wisconsin. His great grandparents settled there in the mid-1800’s. Vandenack has been drawing photographic inspiration from the Door County landscape and environs for five-decades; many of his earliest “serious” images were made on the Door peninsula: The stark landscapes and rocky shorelines of Door County really trained my mind’s eye to see. Vandenack’s photographs are included in the permanent collection of the Miller Art Museum in Door County.
